I will dominate 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua
The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be streamed live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to promote next month's boxing match.
Former twice unified title holder Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Boxer's Mentality
"I will damage his features and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35, said.
"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.
"I intend to genuinely try to injure him. That's my goal."
Civil Exchange
In spite of such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually recognized for his dramatics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul instead attacked former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.
Jake Paul's History
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
However, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's greatest financial successes, frequently receiving massive paydays.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in round four or five and asserted he would stop the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently being planned for 2026.
"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.
Physical Disparity
As both boxers participated in the customary face-off, with their size difference evident, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is truly proceeding.
